BH Coaching now brings online learning into the classroom. With the help of a select group of accredited coaches around the world, baristas now have a way validating they have crossed the baseline for professional barista standards! Our Baseline tests for Barista One and Percolation are challenging practical tests that give talented coffee professionals the chance to prove they can work efficiently to produce outstanding beverage quality.
These Baseline tests are tied in to our established Barista One and Percolation courses. The coaches are here to provide you with all the guidance you need to digest the theory of espresso and filter coffee making. Beyond that, these outstanding barista trainers are here to give you hands-on assistance in improving the accuracy, speed and quality of your coffee making.
To find a coach near you, have a look on the world map above. Each icon on the map guides you to a profile page of each Coach. On that profile page you’ll find a calendar listing where and when their next Baseline Testing day is happening and what course they are focussing on. This small group of BH Coaches are proven world class performers. Among them, you will find outstanding business managers, judges, champion competitors and a huge willingness to share their passion for brewing.
How to use the map
If you click on any of the red location markers, you’ll see a popup listing a coaching location and giving you a short description of the coaching service provided. To see the coaches full company profile, click on the link ‘View Coaching Profile’ and you’ll see a page listing all relevant information about the coach or company your interested in!

Do I get a Baseline certificate?
If you pass the baseline test on the day of training, you will automatically be sent a unique, Baseline certificate with you name and the date of the course you attended. These certificates are stored in a section of your Education Dashboard at Barista Hustle. You can then decide if you want to make your certificate publicly visible.
How do I book a place on a course?
Coaches manage reservations for BH Coaching events directly on their websites. Follow the links to their individual booking pages through the Find a Coach feature above.
Is the course just practical or are there online element?
It’s practical and online! After reserving a place on either the Percolation or Barista One course, Coaches will grant you lifetime access to that course on the BH website.
How long do the courses go for?
Each coach has a slightly different approach to working through the course syllabus in the classroom. They will announce the course time frame on their personalised course calendar in the Find a Coach feature. The good news is, BH Coaching lets you continue learning even after the training day is over. Once the chapters are available to you, you can access them at any time – forever.
What do I get?
You get lifetime access to dozens of online lessons, loads of course videos, charts, animations, downloads, inc several high res poster files. Each training day also presents you with the opportunity to gain the baseline accreditation certificate, and the online course certificate too.
How hard are the courses?
The Barista One and Percolation courses include many technical elements but was written with new baristas in mind. The course videos dive into more difficult concepts and explain them further. The comprehension tests at the end of each chapter will also help you to apply these concepts to everyday coffee making.

What is the practical certification process?
Each BH Coaching event concludes with a challenging practical test we call the Barista Baseline, or the Percolation Baseline test. The tests have a time limit and a set of standards designed to test your tidiness, precision and efficiency.
What is the online certification process?
You have to complete each lesson and comprehension test, then pass the final assessment with a grade of 80% or higher to achieve certification. Proof of certification will be located on the BH site. You’ll be able to share the link with prospective employers. Your certificate is also printable.
Can I share the course with my friends?
Each user will have to pay for their own access to the course. We reserve the right to limit the number of IP addresses that access the course for each account and revoke access.
Is there live tutoring or webinars available?
In our efforts to make this course affordable and accessible to all Baristas, we’ve opted to make the content always accessible and non-interactive.
How long do I have access?
You pay once and have lifetime access.
Do I have to be a Barista Hustle subscriber to take the course?
Nope! Anyone can buy access to the course.
Can I retake the test if I don’t pass?
You have unlimited resits on the online element of the course. Each coach has their own resit policy but each attendee will be given one chance at a resit on the day of training.
Do I need to bring any special equipment?
No. All Coaches have well equipped training rooms with all the brewing equipmetn you need. We’ve designed this course to help everyone that works with espresso-based coffee drinks, regardless of their equipment.
Is it suitable for beginner-level home or service baristas?
If you can hold a portafilter — these courses are for you.
Is it only offered in English?
Our Coaches speak many languages between them. The classroom element of the course is conducted in the language that is preferred by the Coach. The online element of the course is currently only available in English, but we are working on making translations available in several languages later on down the line. Stay tuned!
Can I sign in from multiple devices?
Booking a place on these courses is limited to one IP address per attendee. But multiple devices or locations are okay.
